Happy Easter from Oscar, Rylee, and family! Since it’s Oscar’s first Easter, we wanted to let him celebrate with a special snack. We didn’t want him to have Easter candy due to the sugar content, so we came up with a healthier treat for him. Oscar has eaten oats before, but he’s never actually had oatmeal. So, we made Oscar his very own oatmeal with raisins, blueberries, and bananas.
We put Oscar’s bib on and let him enjoy his Easter oatmeal. He loved every last bite! Happy Easter!
Oscar loves music! When we have music playing in the house, Oscar happily wags his tail to each song. With some songs, his tail appears to even keep the beat. I have been trying to get Oscar’s tail dance on video for a while now, but it’s been a challenge because he always gets distracted when I start searching for the camera.
I was in the kitchen recently when I looked down and noticed Oscar’s tail wagging to Meghan Trainor’s song “Title.” This time I was lucky enough to have my camera within reach, so I finally got his tail dance on video. I’ve read that mini pigs love music and even have preferences for certain songs or types of music. From what I can tell, Oscar is definitely a Meghan Trainor fan!
In the video, Oscar happily wags his tail to Meghan Trainor’s “Title” and then abruptly stops when the song ends. When the next song starts, he wags his tail again.
It’s Valentine’s Day, and Oscar couldn’t be more excited! For him, it’s a day filled with cuddles and candy. For us, it’s a day to appreciate him and the love he’s brought to our lives. Not every moment with a mini pig is easy, but he makes us smile and laugh every single day. There is a quote floating around social media that defines a pig as an “emotionally unstable pint-sized dictator, with the uncanny ability to know exactly how far to push you towards utter insanity, before reverting to a loveable cuddle monster.” Based on our time with Oscar so far, I couldn’t agree more. He drives us crazy some days, but we still love him more and more each day.
Oscar has been experiencing all of his first holidays over the past year.Thanksgiving ranked high with all of the food, cuddling, and napping. He also really loved Christmas because of the cookies and presents. However, this is Oscar’s first Mardi Gras, and he is really excited about celebrating. Unfortunately, Rylee would rather nap these days, but she’s a good sport and is doing her best to keep up with her little brother.
Today is the Super Bowl, and Oscar couldn’t be more excited! He has his football hat on and is ready to cheer on the players. More importantly, he has his juice box cooled in his referee koozie and his snacks prepared. Although Oscar is thrilled today is the big game, I have a hunch he’s more excited about the snacks than anything on television.
Watch as Oscar eats his Super Bowl snack of popcorn, grapes, and Cheerios while wearing his fun football hat.
