Oscar ate his first popsicle! Mini pigs are not graceful eaters, and that was especially true of Oscar eating his popsicle.

The smacking sounds he makes while trying to eat the popsicle are irresistible. I sped the video up in places because, as you’ll see, he has trouble keeping most of the popsicle in his mouth and took a long time to finish eating it. I’m glad Oscar liked the popsicle, but now we can’t eat one without him trying to steal a bite!

Mini pig Oscar turned 5 months old this week, so of course he needed a special treat to celebrate. The peaches around here lately have been delicious, so I picked one up for his big day. As cute as it would have been for him to bite into the peach, I cut it up and removed the pit first. Mini pigs can hoover things in the blink of an eye, so I didn’t want to take any chances. Safety first!

It took Oscar a little while to notice the peach since he was busy eating grass. Once he discovered it though, he was determined to get every last bite. At one point, he tried to run off with it in case I got any crazy ideas about wanting to share!

Here is the video of mini pig Oscar eating his very first peach. I sped it up a little since it took him about five minutes to chase the peach down and finally eat it.

As part of mini pig Oscar’s First Foods series, he got to eat his very first banana. Even better, he tried the banana while wearing his favorite sparkly blue hat! Based on his reaction, I’m not sure if he liked the banana as much as the strawberry, grape, or baby carrot. The texture of the banana seemed to confuse him a bit in the beginning.

We let Oscar try some new foods as part of his first foods series, which has been fun for him and for us. He recently tried his first grape, strawberry, and baby carrot. He liked them all, but I was curious which one was his favorite since it was difficult to tell how much he liked each one. I figured the best way to find out was to give him all three at once and let him choose.

Oscar was very curious about his first strawberry! He didn’t know how to eat it at first, but he kept at it and eventually figured it out. Things got a little messy, but it was so worth it to watch him enjoy his very first strawberry.
